Tories win both seats in Daventry District Council by-election

The Conservatives have won both seats in the by-elections held by Daventry District Council.

In the Welford ward, Luke Major won with 824 votes against Katharine Wicksteed from the Green Party with 242 votes and Sue Myers from Labour with 178 votes. A total of 1,264 people voted, making the turnout 39.08 percent.

In Brixworth, Ian Barratt won with 1,082 votes, beating Robert McNally from Labour with 307 votes, Steve Whiffin from the Green Party with 258 votes and Neil Farmer from the Liberal Democrats with 89 votes. A total of 1,753 people votes, a turnout of 32.83 percent.
