The underpass which links footpaths on Eastern Way and North Street to Ashby Road and Braunston Road, was filled with several inches of water on Saturday.

Once the problem had been reported on Saturday a team from Daventry Fire Station went along and used pumps to clear the water and try to solve the problem behind the flooding.

Many of Daventry’s underpasses have problems with flooding – their drains can easily become blocked with litter or fallen leaves washed into them, and some are at or below the water table and rely on electrical pumps to clear water away.
