Children got water safe at Daventry Leisure Centre as well as raising money for Tommy’s children’s charity.
Tommy’s funds medical research into the prevention of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage.
Luke Parratt, general manager of Daventry Leisure Centre, said: “This fundraising event has been a great opportunity for us to use our swimming lessons to support a good cause.
“We are thrilled that we raised more than £5,000 as a company in one week with funds still coming in. We hope to reach £7,000 in total.”
Starting on June 1 and continuing throughout the week, the Splashathon took place during regular Everyone Active swimming lessons at the centre. A highlight for some centres included an appearance from Peppa Pig.
