Schools, businesses and groups across the area stepped up to raise money for this year’s Children In Need appeal on Friday.
The annual fundraiser saw a range of events going on to raise money – from cake sales and fancy dress days, to challenges and relays.
This year the charity asked people to dress up as their childhood hero to help make a difference to young lives – and that was the theme taken to heart by Ashby Fields Primary School in Daventry.
The pupils and staff all dressed up as their heroes with fictional characters, celebrities, and even their fathers making an appearance.
They also held a bake off competition with the children making items in lessons.
Headteacher Jacqui Johnson said: “The children were baking cakes during their lessons in the morning. And in the afternoon the pupils and the staff ran one mile, all to raise money for Children In Need.
“The children really liked it all, and we have been talking in class about the charity and what it does.”
