MANY schools across the Daventry area will be shut or otherwise affected by strikes tomorrow (Wednesday).
Public sector union members, including teachers, are set to walk out over proposed changes to pensions by the Government.
In Daventry, William Parker and Danetre Schools will be closed. The Abbey Junior School, St James Infant School, Ashby Fields Primary School, both South Brook Infant and Junior schools will be closed.
The Grange School will be open.
Information on Falconers Hill Infant and Junior schools had not been released at the time of writing.
Guilsborough Secondary School will be open, but Campion in Bugbrooke will be shut.
In some cases schools are remaining open but with certain classes or year groups being affected.

Some members of Northamptonshire Police’s civilian staff will also be on strike. The force has said plans have been put in place to ensure that any essential policing services covered by those police staff will be fulfilled by police officers, who are not lawfully permitted to strike.
Daventry Job Centre will also be affected by the strikes, and a picket is expected outside Daventry District Council’s Lodge Road office early in the morning.
A large protest by the striking workers is expected in the centre of Northampton during the day.
