SOME of the district’s best known faces put on their dancing shoes to raise thousands for charity at Strictly Daventry.

The event, organised by the Kate Fisher Dance Academy was held at the iCon centre in Daventry on Friday.

The competition, which was won by Jerome Davies, owner of Jerome Davies Photography, raised £2,235 for the Support 4SDR charity, a group dedicated to improving care for cerebral palsy sufferers.

Kate Fisher, event organiser said: “Everyone performed beyond my expectations. There were some very complex dance routines displayed on the dance floor.

“A big thank you to Orchard Print who very kindly printed all the programmes and tickets for free and the iCon was given to us to use at a hugely reduced rate. Thanks also to Daventry Leisure Centre for providing much-needed free training facilities.”
