THE bunting will be out in force across the Daventry district when Prince William and Kate Middleon tie the knot.
A range of street parties and celebrations have been organised for the day of the Royal Wedding, which takes place at Westminster Abbey on April 29.
Prince William has close connections with the Daventry district through the Spencer family at Althorp and his uncle still resides at the country house.
In Daventry town centre the day of the wedding will be marked with street parties both in the High Street and on Epping Walk.
There will also be a range of celebrations out in the villages including at Sidney Road in Woodford Halse and the Main Street in East Haddon.
Hammas Leys in Long Buckby will also be hosting a street party as will Brood Street in Brixworth.
And there will also be Royal celebrations in the Joymead Gardens in Farthingstone and in the village of Hellidon.
A range of other events are planned at pubs and clubs throughout the district.
Cllr Alan Hills, community, culture and leisure portfolio holder at Daventry District Council, said: “Our district has a long and proud tradition of celebrating Royal Weddings with street parties and the council will do everything it can to support and assist local neighbourhoods and communities who are planning their own event to mark this historic occasion.
“If you are holding a street party or a similar get-together then please get in touch with us, as we may be able to help with its organisation.”
People planning street parties or public events are urged to contact the council as soon as possible to ask about any permission they may need to apply for, such as the closure of their street or a licence for entertainment.
For plans that include music or alcohol a temporary event notice (TEN) may also be required.
The TEN can be given to anyone over the age of 18 who is holding an event that includes entertainment, the sale or the supply of alcohol and late night refreshment.
It costs £21 and must be applied for at least 10 working days before the day of the event.
