YOUNGSTERS put their walking shoes on all for a good cause.

Children from Chipping Warden Kindergarten and reception children from the village’s primary school joined forces for the mile walk on Tuesday.

The event raised money for Barnardo’s as part of the charity’s national Big Toddle initiative and the total is expected to be more than £300.

The kindergarten’s manager Jo Foster said: “We wanted to do this because we thought the children should help out those less fortunate than themselves.

“Barnardo’s is a very good charity and helps a lot.

“The children absolutely loved doing it and it was a beautiful day. This is the fifth year we have done it so for some children, this was the third year they have done the waddle. It was nice for the mums to come along as well.

“We will almost certainly be doing the toddle waddle again next year but we might raise funds for a local charity rather than a national one.”
