THE annual St George’s Day parade takes place on Saturday in Daventry.

It will start at the old swimming pool car park at 2pm and will be led by the Northamptonshire Scout Band and the Mayor of Daventry Town Council, Cllr Colin Morgan.

The parade marches along North Street, then the High Street, Sheaf Street, Bowen Square and will finish on the New Street Recreation Ground about 2.30pm.

From 3pm, beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers will be taking part in activities on the ground.

The fancy dress costumes at the parade will have a royal theme to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
