Youngsters can learn sleuthing skills

Spy and sleuthing skills are the theme for drama courses at Royal & Derngate in Northampton, during half term.

Children aged from eight to 13 can enjoy four days of creative activities at the Who Dunnit? course, and younger children aged from four to seven can join the fun at the Spy School course.

Both will run from Tuesday, May 26 to Friday, May 29, and the theatre’s workshop leaders will take the children on a fun-filled adventure as they make new friends and discover their individual talents in a safe and relaxed environment.

Both workshops will encourage children to explore the arts through specially designed activities. The older group will enjoy tackling cryptic clues and mysterious messages, while trying to discover who has been stealing the town’s prized possessions, with the course culminating in an informal performance for family and friends. The younger group at the Spy School sessions will delve into the top secret skills of being a spy through silly games, drama, fun, arts and crafts.

The Who Dunnit? and Spy School drama courses will take place in the theatre’s Underground spaces from 10am to 3pm, though children may be dropped off earlier and collected later by prior agreement.
