WEEK of Action on the Southbrook estate in Daventry has been hailed as a success.
A series of events was held at the end of March and included garage raids, grafitti removal and litter picks by members of the community.
The Week of Action was organised by the Daventry District and South Northamptonshire Community Safety Partnership and was designed to improve the environment on the estate.
The manager of the partnership, Kevin Fagan said: “The Southbrook Week of Action was a great success and has definitely had a big impact on the area.”
As part of the week, volunteers, staff and school children helped to collect 84 bags of litter while graffiti was removed from the pavilion on the Fishponds and on buildings at Hood Road.
Police were also on hand to give residents crime prevention advice including handing out SmartWarter kits.
Overgrown trees and hedges have been cut back while worn down doors on Kennedy Close have been replaced with new ones.
Mr Fagan added: “All our partners have worked together really well to make the initiative a success, and we hope that it will inspire people living in Southbrook to continue to keep the area looking clean and tidy.”
