Sheep rescued after getting stuck in the River Nene in Northamptonshire
Firefighters were called in to assist the RSPCA after two sheep became stranded in the River Nene.
The animals got into difficulty in water at Wellingborough Lakes, just off the Whitworth Bros factory site in Wellingborough, at 2.45pm yesterday (Saturday).
Crews from Wellingborough, Earls Barton and Mereway went out to help with the rescue, which saw the fire service’s boat and technical rescue vehicle used.
Their efforts were successful and the sheep were later returned to where they had come from.
