THE MP for Daventry has launched an engineering competition for secondary schools.
Chris Heaton-Harris has set up a We Made It competition designed for 13 to 16-year-olds and is for them to submit designs and ideas for a gadget, gizmo, toy or tools they would like to see made. The purpose of the competition is to show youngsters how rewarding a career is in manufacturing.
He said “I am very proud to be supporting this great project to help young people turn their ideas into reality.
“Britain desperately needs more young people aspiring to high-level manufacturing jobs and gain a better understanding of how the industry and businesses involved in it actually works. ”
The best entries nationwide will be invited to see their designs being manufactured and brought to life.
