School exams cancelled after fire

STAFF at Campion School in Bugbrooke have revealed classes will be back to normal tomorrow morning after a fire broke out in an electrical substation.

The fire, at around 8.10am today (Monday) cut all power to the school, which was forced to close for the day.

A statement on the school’s website said: “Students have been returned home on the buses that brought them to school

“All exams scheduled for the day have been cancelled, students will be advised of revised timings when they return to school.

“The cut in power will also effect our telephone system, it is unlikely that you will be able to get through until power has been safely restored.”

Crews were called to the school, in Kislingbury Road, after the fire started and are believed to have had the blaze under control quickly.

Power has now been restored to the school and parents have been told it will reopen on Tuesday.
