East Haddon Primary School has been rated the best primary school in the town by a website that monitors the performance of schools over the past year.

The website - www.schoolsguide.co.uk - give its top grade of five stars to East Haddon and placed it top of the list for schools in the Daventry area. Welton Academy was the only other local school to get five stars and was placed second.

The website looks at a range of data including exam results, Ofsted reports, ‘value added’ score and pupil to teacher ratio.

The top 17 of the table reads:

1 - East Haddon Primary

2 - Welton Academy

3 - Braunston Primary

4 - West Haddon Primary

5 - Harpole Primary

6 - Bliss Charity School in Nether Heyford

7 - Kislingbury

8 - Long Buckby Junior

9 - Flore

10 - Weedon

11 - The Grange in Daventry

12 - Yelvertoft

13 - Newnham

14 - Barby

15 - Ashby Fields in Daventry

16 - Kilsby

17 - Bugbrooke

Other than the top two schools, the rest of the top 17 were given four stars.

Three star grades were given to Woodford Halse, Brington, Crick, Staverton, Badby, The Abbey in Daventry, and Boddington.

Facloners Hill Junior Academy and Byfield were rated as one star.

Some schools in the area were not graded – due to a lack of data – so their place on the table is unknown. These include St James Infants, Falconers Hill Infants, DSLV, and Long Buckby Infants.
