
Data collected over three years has been used to measure the wellbeing of more than 300,000 people across the UK.
People were asked to score their happiness and life satisfaction between 0 and 10.
In Northamptonshire, the average happiness score was 7.39, while for life satisfaction it was 7.49.
The local authority data by ONS showed people in south Northamptonshire had the highest average happiness score of 7.86.

Daventry was second with 7.46, followed by Northampton with 7.41, Wellingborough 7.32, Kettering 7.31, east Northants, 7.25 and Corby 7.01.
For life satisfaction, south Northants also came top with a score of 7.97, with Daventry second with 7.78.
East Northants is in third place with 7.58, then Kettering with 7.49, Northampton 7.34, Wellingborough 7.25 and Corby with 7.18.
The data, which also measured how anxious people feel and how worthwhile they rate their life, was collected from a sample of 2,060 people in Northamptonshire.
