The funding, which comes as part of the initial planning agreement for Saxon Rise, is being given by Barratt Homes to support community investment for both new and existing residents.

Specific contributions include £1.2m towards primary and secondary educational facilities and £92,000 towards the development of local healthcare services, as well as many additional projects such as the provision of 11 extra car parking spaces in the village centre and a fully-equipped children’s play area on the development.

Andrew Swindell, managing director of Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “As a local homebuilder, we want to support communities, in addition to building homes. We hope that these contributions will go a long way towards improving the lives of people who live in the local area.”

Located off Northampton Road on Salt Pikes in Brixworth, Saxon Rise is a recently launched development providing 150 new homes over the coming months. This will include eight affordable bungalows and 11 shared ownership homes.

Thanks to the development of Saxon Rise approximately 130 jobs have already been created for local people and an estimated 150 more will soon be available across other areas of the business, demonstrating the homebuilder’s continued commitment to the community, and the county of Northamptonshire.
