Top property presenters Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsop paid a visit to the Daventry district in the run up to the release of a new show, Love It or List It.
The 60-minute programme will feature families facing the tough decision as to whether to renovate their home or buy a new one.
The show will see Kirstie trying to convince families to transform their home and stay put, while Phil will be trying to convince them to sell up.
As part of the show Phil visited Daventry estate agents including Stonhills and Campbells last Wednesday to get their expert advice on the local housing market. Earlier, the property duo – best known for their appearances on Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location – were also filming in Braunston.
Bazz Mistry of Stonhills said: “Phil came in to ask questions about the local housing market. They came in with a camera crew to do some filming. It was a great atmosphere; we all had a cup of tea and there was some good banter.”
Paul Campbell of Campbell’s Estate Agents in Daventry gave Phil a tour of Braunston.
He said: “My job was to try to help Phil find the family another house.
“Part of the research Phil had to do was have a good tour round the village and the nearby area.”
Mr Campbell added that he regularly meets families like those in the show who face the same dilemma of having to decide whether to move or renovate. He added: “Often this is about families who have lived in the same house for 30-odd years. They have to make the call whether to move or not; these people are special cases.”
