Parents and students attended Guilsborough Church of England Primary School’s official opening of a new outdoor play area on Wednesday, October 22.
The playground was partly funded by a large donation from the Diocese of Peterborough and designed by Ms Sarah Shields, one of the teachers at the school.
The new, colourful play area aims to facilitate much more outdoor learning and includes a mini Punch and Judy theatre, obstacles and a roofed area adjoining the main building.
Dr Watts, Guilsborough headteacher, said: “The play area was originally one third of the size it is now. It was quite dark. It is much more open now.”
“This area will allow the children to experience the seasons.”
