Poundworld to create 30 new jobs as it replaces Mamas & Papas at Northampton retail park

Poundworld has put up signs on an empty unit at the Sixfields retail park and workers have been spotted inside the store fitting it out.

The discount store will replace baby store, Mamas & Papas, which closed in February this year.

Poundworld, which already has a store in the Grosvenor Centre in the town centre, will open at 10am on July 2.

Chris Edwards, junior trading director, said: “We’re delighted to announce our arrival to the Sixfields Retail Park in early July joining a host of other favourite retailers at the site.

“We already have a store in Northampton at the Grosvenor Shopping Centre and we’re excited to be expanding in the town creating another 30 jobs in the process.

“We hope we’ll be able to bring a new offering to the retail park with our incredible value products including leading brands such as Coca Cola, Johnson’s and Heinz.

“In time for the summer holidays, we’ll also be launching our biggest range of £1 licensed Minions products on Saturday July 4 with fun for the kids including face painting, giveaways and much more.”
