The company is proposing to re-locate West Waddon Post to the Londis West End Stores in the village.

The proposal is for a new-style local branch where Post Office products and services are provided from an open-plan till at the retail counter of the convenience store.

Should the move go ahead, Post Office services would be available seven days a week during the store’s opening hours Monday to Saturday: 8am to 8pm; and Sunday: 8am to 1pm.

This would be an extra 31 hours of Post Office services every week including Sunday morning and Saturday afternoon. The branch would also open earlier and would close much later every day.

The proposed move, would be with the current Postmaster’s agreement and is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network.

Suzanne Richardson, regional network manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.
