YOUNGSTERS can discover what creepy crawlies lurk beneath the surface of the ponds at Daventry Country Park at an event this month.

Pond dipping is being held from 10am to noon on Saturday, June 30, to celebrate National Insect Week.

A local ecologist will be on hand to help youngsters see what aquatic insects, bugs and other animals they can catch and then to identify them.

The event is completely free and families should meet at the Visitors Centre at 9.45am in the country park before heading towards the ponds, where pond nets and trays will be set up.
