Detective Constable John Cordner, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a very nasty incident which has left the couple very badly shaken several months on.

“Crimes of this nature are fortunately very rare in Northamptonshire, but we need to track down these men to make sure they cannot target anyone else.”

The men approached the farm just after 2am on Wednesday, June 24, and banged on the door claiming to be police officers.

Once inside, they bound the hands and feet of the couple, forced them to lay on the floor and demanded to know where they kept their money.
