Police confirm they are taking no action over death of white wallaby in Northamptonshire
The wallaby was found on Thursday by a farmer in a field near Salcey Forest, and it had a puncture wound in its throat that may have been caused by a dog.
But police have said a number of factors have prevented them looking into the matter.

Hide AdA spokesman said: “The wallaby is a wild animal and is not anyone’s property, so it would be difficult to look into as a criminal matter.
“For example, if the dog had been off its lead that would be a civil matter that would not involve police.
“It’s possible that someone trespassed into the field, but we have no evidence of that.”
The land where the body was found is privately-owned where no dog walkers are permitted.

Hide AdAlthough it is understood a trespasser on the field, who was walking with a large dog, was reported to police at the weekend (after the body was found) officers do not believe he or his pet had anything to do with the wallaby’s death.
