Police clamp down on park problems

EXTRA police patrols have been put in place after a spike of anti-social behaviour on New Street playing field in Daventry.

Since the clocks have gone forward and the evenings have got lighter, officers have noticed groups of youngsters hanging around the park with some of them drinking alcohol.

The groups of youths have also been leaving large amounts of litter behind, and police believe their behaviour may be deterring others from using the field.

The Northamptonshire Police clampdown has been launched under Operation Nightsafe, which focuses on the evening economy across the county.
