Long-awaited designs for the new Northamptonshire College building in Daventry will be unveiled later this month.
The new building will stand on part of the college’s campus off Badby Road West, and the plans will be open to public consultation.
A spokesman for the college said: “We are keen to stress that the college has invested significant resources in Daventry over the last decade and has been completely open and transparent in laying out its plans for a new building that will benefit the entire community. There has been a process of public consultation on the use of the land for residential purposes and there will be another similar exercise next month when plans for the new building are revealed.
“The educational case for our new improved building speaks for itself through its ambition to provide skills for young people so employers can recruit talented individuals locally. We strongly believe this contributes to the creation of a thriving community that offers good future prospects to its citizens.
“In addition, the impact of our investment represents options for young people and it is important they have local choices so they can choose academic, vocational or technical routes, all on their own doorstep, in state of the art facilities, and without having to leave the town.”
