SCHOOLCHILDREN enjoyed clowning around at Warden Primary School when they spent the day learning circus skills.
More than 60 pupils aged four to 11 learned how to ride unicycles, spin plates, walk tight ropes and juggle last Friday, before performing their new skills to an enthralled audience of parents and friends at the village hall.
Key Stage One and Foundation Stage teacher Hilary Harding, who organised the event, said: “We had a fantastic day, the children all came in costume and really loved it – it was great fun.
“We’d been doing a healthy humans topic in class and we were thinking about alternative forms of exercise; that’s how the idea of circus skills came up.”
The circus fun was provided by an instructor from Shooting Stars, and the event was so successful that the school may repeat it in future.
