A workforce has donated £1,000 to a local charity that helps give children and families the best start in life.

The Amazon team based in Daventry has been supporting Home-Start Northampton for two years and has once again raised funds that are vital, especially during the pandemic.

The charity, which is run by a network of trained volunteers, supports families with issues such as isolation, post-natal illness, disability, mental health issues, bereavement, multiple births, poverty or financial difficulties, substance abuse or low self-esteem and confidence, and a range of other challenges by offering home visits to work with families one-to-one.

Gareth Davies, site leader at Amazon Daventry, said: “Home-Start Northampton is a lifeline for families in Northampton during times of need and we are pleased we can offer our support once again.”

Jenny Brooks, chairperson of Home-Start Northampton, added: “On behalf of the volunteers and families of Home-Start Northampton, I want to say a big thank you to Gareth and his team. It’s support like this that helps us to continue working hard for vulnerable families.”

Home-Start Northampton received the donation as part of the ‘Amazon in the Community’ programme, in which the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
