Two drivers seriously injured in VE Day smash in Northamptonshire

Crash investigators have launched an appeal for witnesses after two drivers were seriously injured in a VE Day smash in South Northamptonshire.

A black Ford Focus and white Vauxhall Vivaro collided on the A508 at Grafton Regis at around 8pm on Friday (May 8).

Firefighters from Mereway rushed to the scene and cut one person free from the wreckage.

A spokesman for the Northants Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “The drivers of both vehicles, aged 44 and 34, were taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.

"We would like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at around 7.52pm on Friday May 8 and who may have seen this incident or even may have dashcam footage.
