A man has been found dead in a caravan that caught fire in a layby on the A45 in Northampton.

Northamptonshire Police were called to a layby on the A45 close to the Holiday Inn, just outside Flore in the early hours of this morning (January 18).

At the scene, a caravan was on fire and a man was found dead inside.

The death is currently being treated as 'unexplained'.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said: "We were called this morning at about 4.45am to reports that a caravan was on fire in a layby on the A45.

"Sadly, a man was found dead inside. His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Fire & Police are on scene investigating."

Anyone with any information about the incident should call police on 101.
