Hundreds of concerned Kilsby residents support campaign to get rid of 'eyesore'
Hundreds of Kilsby residents have signed a campaign to support the closure of an 'eyesore' on the A5.
Daventry MP Chris Heaton-Harris is visiting the layby to to hear and see residents' concerns first hand.
Campaign organiser David Head, who lives in the village, said: "This has been a major concern for the residents of Kilsby for a long time.
"More than 270 people have backed the campaign so far and many people have also indicated that they would be willing to support legal action to get the layby closed."
He said plans to close the layby to HGVs was part of parish plans, but the proposal has yet to take place.
"This was many years ago and it still hasn't been delivered," said David.
He said the area is a target for fly tippers, bringing pollution and other hazards.
"We will be asking Chris to show his support to progress our campaign," added David.
"Villagers are encouraged to come along to the visit on Friday, May 7 at 3pm."
