21. Ashley Simbarashe Maparura
Northampton Crown Court heard how Zimbabwean asylum seeker Maparura wants to “turn his life around” after being given leave to stay in the UK despite a horrifying list of 68 previous convictions. The 34-year-old, of Nether Jackson Court, Northampton, was arrested after being spotted by CCTV operators carrying a hammer at 1.50am in Corby. He was sentenced to 16 months. 22. Andru-Jay Burgess
Burgess, a notorious disqualified driver, was jailed again — this time for 12 weeks — after he was breaching his driving ban twice in two days in Corby during April 2024 The 24-year-old, of Culross Walk, also admitted taking a motor vehicle without consent and driving with no insurance. He was also issued with a fresh disqualification for 45 months. 23. Trevor Evans
The convicted paedophile was jailed for 16 months after threatening neighbours with a machete while standing naked outside his Corby home. Northampton Crown Court heard how Evans, appeared via videolink from HMP Peterborough, responded to complaints of loud music coming from his flat in Mendip Way at 7.30am by coming out “shouting and screaming”. 24. Marius Rujanschi
The 24-year-old Northampton van driver was jailed for two years, four months in Aylesbury after admitting taking cocaine before a horror crash which left a 44-year-old woman in a coma.According to Thames Valley Police, Rujanschi pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving following the smash on the A428 between Northampton and Bedford in January 2023.Rujanschi, of Ellfield Court, was said to have lost control of his Nissan Interstar panel van and collided head-on with a Ford Focus causing “catastrophic damage”.
