Driver in his 60s rushed to hospital following lunchtime crash near Daventry roundabout

A driver in his 60s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Daventry on Monday lunchtime.

The man was behind the wheel of a black Honda Accord when it collided with a motorised horsebox in Northern Way in the town.

Northamptonshire's Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched an appeal for witnesses into the smash, at around 1pm.

A Police spokesman said: "The collision occurred between a Honda Accord car and a green motorised horsebox near to the roundabout junction with the A361 road.

"As a result of the collision, the driver of the Honda – a man in his 60s - sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Coventry.

"Our officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage.

"If anyone does have information that would help us, please call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615 or Northamptonshire Police on 101 using reference number 263 of 20/07/20."
