DAVENTRY’S first ever Cyclefest event rode into town at the weekend.
The day gave keen cyclists the chance to get involved with everything from bike maintenance to a bicycle basket bazaar – the cycling equivalent of a car boot sale.
Adult learn-to-ride taster sessions were also available.
Katie Jones, customer services manager at Daventry District Council, said: “More than 30 people joined in with the guided cycle ride around Daventry and had a brilliant time. The weather stayed dry although it was a little windy.
“The whole family enjoyed trying out unusual bikes, checking how well they can cycle, getting advice on bike maintenance and much more.
“Daventry is a great place to cycle around and hopefully the new cycle map will encourage more people to get on their bikes.”
