Pedal park helps steer eco message

YOUNGSTERS at an infant school in the town can now park their bikes and scooters in style.

A new pedal paddock has been installed at Falconer’s Hill Infant School in Ashby Road.

The rainbow-coloured cycle and scooter pods are designed to be more attractive to the pupils than a conventional bike rack.

The Friends of the School’s fundraising committee have spent the past year raising money for the paddock.

The idea was designed to get more children to come to school on their bikes and scooters and further boost its eco credentials.

Headteacher Coleen Wilkins said: “As a green flag eco school we are keen on promoting walking and cycling/scooting to school and this is a great way to encourage them.”
