DAVENTRY Country Park has been recognised as one of Britain’s best green spaces after receiving the prestigious Green Flag Award.
The award is given to parks by the Green Flag Plus Partnership – a consortium of Keep Britain Tidy, British Trust for Conservation Volunteers and GreenSpace.
The accolade has now been awarded to Daventry Country Park 11 times in the past 12 years.
Cllr Alan Hills, community, culture and leisure portfolio holder at Daventry District Council, said: “It’s great news that the park has received the Green Flag award again and is a sure sign to visitors that the park is well maintained, well managed and has excellent facilities.
“The award also emphasises the hard work and commitment shown by everyone who has contributed to this achievement and long may our success continue.”
All the winning sites now have the chance to receive a further award from the Green Flag Plus Partnership, the People’s Choice Award, which is voted for by the public.
