Owners of Daventry newsagents to celebrate a quarter of a century in charge

Oxford Street News in Daventry is marking 25 years in business with a special event in April.

Owner Hamendra Patel said: “ My wife Sangita, my daughter Artee and I moved to Daventry and bought Oxford Street News in 1991.

“Back then the shop was a third of the size it is now and we were proud and happy to call this our new home. In 1992, we had our second child Hiren and over next couple of years, the shop was proving a great success thanks to our friendly and loyal customers and we decided to extend the property in 1994.

“Daventry is a lovely town and a home that we have valued over the past 25 years.

“We believe we have built a special friendship and bond with our customers, especially those who have been coming since day one. We would like to personally thank all of our customers for choosing to buy their groceries from Oxford Street News, we value their custom and we are happy to serve their friendly faces everyday!

“On April 16 from 10am to 5pm, we are holding an event at the shop to celebrate 25 years of business. We will be serving food and soft drinks all day and everyone is welcome. We will also be holding a charity raffle to support St John Ambulance with lots of prizes to be won.”
