Open day showcases what centre has to offer

PEOPLE interested in improving their job prospects went along to an open day in Daventry yesterday (Wednesday).

Futures Training, based in the High Street, opened its doors to the public to give them a chance to look around and find out what was on offer.

They could also meet staff and current and former users of the service.

Jackie O’Neill, from Futures Training, said: “The day went very well.

“It’s about showing people what we offer and that they’re very flexible courses that we can fit around people’s other commitments.

“We run government-funded courses in maths, English and IT for over 19s.

“The new course we’re offering as well now is about employability. That looks at things like CVs, interview skills and barriers people have to overcome to get into the world of work as well.

“It’s a really key thing now given the job market is so competitive at the moment.”
