AFTER months of collecting mobile phones a Daventry mother has almost succeeded in her challenge to get an iPad for her son.
Carla Pasfield needs to collect 185 phones as part of the Hearts and Minds Challenge which raises funds to support families touched by autism.
On reaching this target Mrs Pasfield can swap the phones for an iPad which she hopes will help her 13-year-old son Callum, who suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learn more effectively.
Children with ADHD find it more difficult to concentrate and complete their school work and so Mrs Pasfield wants to get the iPad to keep Callum engaged while learning.
She said: “An iPad would help Callum a lot because they put lots of learning apps on to help with maths and other subjects. There are also games that can help with school work in general.”
Mrs Pasfield needs 30 phones to reach her target, they can be left at the Daventry Express office in High Street.
