Older people in Daventry invited to have their say on lifestyles as part of Ageing Well Survey

The Ageing Well survey asks people to answer questions about what it is like to live in their part of the district.

The survey also looks at housing, health, and transport use, as well as on their social lives.

Daventry District Council health and housing portfolio holder Cllr Mike Warren said: “The council would like Daventry district to be a place where older people are able to live independent, healthy and active lives for as long as possible.

To help us achieve that we really need to hear from people about the issues that affect them. That way we can look at ways to tackle those issues and make a difference for our older residents.”

Feedback from the consultation, which runs until March 4, will help shape the Daventry District Council’s Older Person’s Strategy – Ageing Well in Daventry District 2016-2020.

It will also help the Rural Isolation Project, which is being run by the council and its partners in order to better support people aged 65 and over suffering feelings of loneliness or isolation.

Copies of the consultation can be found in community outlets, shops and surgeries across the district. It can be filled in online at www.
daventrydc.gov.uk/consultations or people can request a paper copy of the survey be posted out to them by calling the council on 01327 871100.

Anyone filling in the survey can be entered into a prize draw to win a food hamper.
