Northamptonshire health workers celebrate international nurses’ day at conference
More than 300 trust staff attended the event with a theme of celebrating compassion in practice.
The programme for the day included wellbeing sessions and keynote speakers - Julie Shepherd, director of nursing and quality at NHFT, Shelagh Morris, deputy chief allied health professions officer, NHS England, Michelle Livesey, Helen Sanderson Associates, Andrew Whittaker, The Art of Being Brilliant and Moira Ingham, Dean of the School of Health, University of Northampton and non-executive director for the trust.

Hide AdJulie Shepherd, NHFT’s director of nursing and quality headed the conference and said: “The trust’s AHP and nursing conference is a superb day of celebration for all AHPs and nurses within the trust and I am extremely proud to share the special day with them.
“I was delighted to see so many staff and the involvement and networking taking place during the day. The conference truly is a day of celebration and a thank you for our AHPs and nurses for all their support and dedication to compassionate care to our patients.”

Nurses’ Day is celebrated every year on May 12, as a tribute to the work of Florence Nightingale who was born on that day in 1820.
