A new officer has taken command of the Daventry Air Cadets as they get ready for a busy autumn.

Flying Officer RAF VR(T) Liz Chard has taken over command of 497 Daventry Squadron and the cadets are gearing up for a full on autumn of activity.

She said: “It’s a privilege to take on such an active unit with such talented and friendly young people.

“I’m looking forward to seeing our cadets out snowboarding, shooting, flying, first aid training, Poppy Appeal collecting and helping at community events.”

Anyone interested in joining the squadron aged between 12 and a half and 18 can email or visit the cadet centre, Waterloo, Daventry on Monday or Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
