New mayor elected for Daventry

A new person has taken over the role of Mayor of Daventry.

Cllr Glenda Simmonds was elected by her fellow town councillors to serve in the role for the coming year.

Upon her election Cllr Simmonds said: “I feel very honoured to have been elected as the Mayor of Daventry, I am looking forward to engaging with as many different organisations and business as possible to promote our town along with my deputy Cllr Lynne Taylor.

“I would also like to thank the outgoing Mayor Cllr Wendy Randall for all her hard work during her term.”

Cllr Simmonds was deputy mayor for the past 12 months.
