PLANS for a 107 new homes in Long Buckby have been thrown out following a meeting last night (Wednesday).

The proposal, which would have also seen an extended car park at the train station, new ticket office and a refurbished swimming pool at the village’s junior school, was turned down by the planning committee of Daventry District Council.

However, it took a casting vote from the committee’s chairman Steve Osborne to see off the plans which council officials had recommended for approval.
