New homes could be built next to Daventry Country Park

FIELDS alongside Daventry Country Park have been identified as suitable for thousands of new homes.

The site, known as Church Fields after a previous planning application, runs along the B4036 from the Norton Road to just short of Thrupp Lodge.

It has been identified in the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy as a place to build 2,500 homes as an extension of Daventry.

Although the site includes a green buffer and parkland, combined with the Monks- moor site already given per- mission along Welton Lane, the two would see the Country Park turned into a corridor of countryside projecting into the town.
