A NEW chairman was elected for Daventry District Council last night (Wednesday).
Cllr Diana Osbourne was elected to the post, replacing previous chairman Ann Carter.
She said: “I am already proud to be a councillor, but to be chairman is a wonderful feeling.
“It’s a good year to be chairman with the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics coming up, and I’m looking forward to the expansion of Daventry as a town.”
Cllr Osbourne added that the charity she will be supporting for the coming year is Cancer Research.
Cllr Chris Long was elected as vice chairman for the coming year.
