YOUNGSTERS at a village primary school have been honing their archery skills at a new after school club.
Weedon Bec Primary School set up the club this term, and so far it’s proving to be a big hit with the pupils.
Katy Withers, who works in the school office, said: “It’s something we are running this term on a trial basis.
“There are 11 children taking part and they meet once a week, after school every Tuesday.
“The children have a couple of targets to aim at and are also learning about bows and arrows and how to use all the equipment safely.
“They also have booklets to read through which teach them about the etiquette and rules of archery.
“And we are getting some different bows and arrows soon for the children to try out.
“It’s quite academic as well as good fun and teaches the pupils lots of new skills.
“The children have been really enjoying themselves so far.
“We might carry on with it next term if it keeps going well.”
