Ring out 2014 – After practising at the usual time, the bellringers will gather again at 11.30pm on Old Year’s Night (tonight) to ring a farewell to 2014. After a short break for a toast, the bells will be fired (rung together simultaneously) 12 times at midnight to greet 2015 and rung for a bit with more firing. Visitors, ringers or non-ringers, are very welcome to come in the tower and to improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing by learning to ring in 2015!
Waste collection - Black wheelie bins will be emptied tomorrow (Thursday). In January, Christmas trees will be collected if put out with recycling boxes from Thursday, January 8. The next brown wheelie bin collection will be on Thursday, January 22.
Church Services – Sunday, 10am, Communion led by the Rev Jay Phelps at the United Reformed Church, Chapel Lane; 11am, Holy Communion led by the Rev Sue Faulkner at St Mary’s Church.

Parish church - On Sunday there will be Evening Prayer at 6pm.
Methodist Church - On Sunday there will be Sunday School at 10.30 am and Mr J Langridge will lead Evening Service at 6pm.
150 years celebration – The members of the Methodist Church are making plans to celebrate this special anniversary in April this year. Christmas Trees - To recycle your real tree when you have to take it down please put it by your boxes on January 5, 12 and 26. or by your brown bin on January 19 (there will be no brown bin collection on January 5. Remember trees will not be collected if they are left in the middle of the village green.

St Peter and St Pauls - The Benefice service and Holy communion on Sunday is at Thorpe Mandeville at 10am.
WI - The WI meeting on Tuesday is at 7.30pm in the village hall. The speaker is Debbie demonstrating Zumba Gold, an opportunity to exercise the extra inches off that was gained over Christmas. Subscriptions are due at this meeting, this year it is £36.

Church Service - There will be a joint family service for the parishes of Everdon and Dodford on Sunday at St. Mary’s in Everdon at 11am.
Christmas Trees - Real Christmas trees will be collected between January 8 and 31. Please place next to your recycling bins or in your brown bin for the next collection on Thursday January 22.
Quiz Night - At The Plough on Tuesday at 8pm start. First quiz of the new year and another exciting rollover jackpot.

Church - There will be a special Christingle Service for children and families at 4pm on Sunday.
Eydon Players - Rehearsals for ‘Alice – The Wonderland Years’ start in the village hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday and will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until the show is performed on Friday February 27 and Saturday February 28. Church services - There will be no service in the parish church this Sunday. There will, however, be a service at Catesby at 9.30am. There will be the usual short service of prayer tomorrow (Thursday, New Year’s Day) at 9am.
Quiz Night at the Red Lion - The Christmas Eve Quiz night at the Red Lion was well attended, with five teams of varying sizes taking part as resident Brian Lee posed questions for four rounds, as well as handing round a picture quiz. The winning team were Where’s Graham, who won a bottle of wine.

A Big Thank You - To everyone who supported the Christmas Fayre and Santa’s Grotto on Saturday the 13th December. £520 was raised for Cynthia Spencer Hospice and Macmillan. Breakfast at St Lawrence Church - Held on the first Sunday of the month from 10am at the Church Rooms, the next breakfast will be on Sunday.
United Reformed Church - The church is holding a service on Sunday at 11am - Wise men looking for Jesus - all are welcome to join.
Make It and Take It - The Library hold a monthly craft club for children from 5 to 12 years on the first Sunday of the month at 2pm. The next session will be on Sunday.
St Lawrence Church Bell Ringers - The Bells of St Lawrence’s Church have been rung since they were first installed in 1624. They need additional members to join the band. Either experienced/lapsed ringers or new recruits. They practice on a Monday evening between 7:30pm and 9pm and ring for Sunday Service and weddings in the local Benefice and beyond. Parish Councillor Vacancy’s - The deadline is fast approaching for candidates to apply. The two vacancies for parish councillors, due to recent resignations, have yet to be filled. The vacancies will be filled by co-option. Weedon Link Road - Weedon Parish Council will be holding an extraordinary meeting to discuss the planning application for the Daventry Development Link Road (Flore - Weedon bypass). The meeting will be held in the Village Hall Annex on Tuesday at 7pm. This meeting is open to the general public to attend and offer comment.
Bored? - The Weedon Bec Neighborhood Plan steering group are keen to hear from the 12 – 18 year old residents in the Village.

Messy Church 2015 - The first Messy Church will be on Saturday January 10 between 10am and noon at Weedon Parish Church.
The WSA - The Chairman and Committee of The Weedon Sports Association would like to wish a happy and healthy new year to all Weedon residents and supporters of the WSA. We look forward to staging more successful Community events for you in 2015.

Young at Heart Group - Viv and the crew wish all Heart Support members “Young at Heart” a very Happy, Healthy 2015 and we hope you all enjoyed the festive period.
