Name of Eddie Stobart truck up for auction

The logistics company, which has a huge base in Crick, donated the prize to friends and family of two-year-old Joey Ziadi as they search for a bone marrow donor to save his life.

It will be one of several lots to be auctioned off at the Glitter Ball event at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday, September 12, which will raise money for NGH’s premature baby ward, Anthony Nolan and Joey’s own charity, GI Joey.

Joey’s mum, Kaisha Morris, said: “We were originally given it last Christmas as a lot for a private auction, but we felt it was just too amazing to let go for only £20. We’ve now saved it for a bigger event and we desperately hope that a generous fan will get involved and benefit three fantastic charities.”

The prize comes with the stipulation that, as per Eddie Stobart tradition, the truck has to have a female name. After a successful bid, the winner will get a canvas depicting the vehicle with its new name.

Amy Mandale of Eddie Stobart said: “The waiting list is four or five years and only available to our club members so this is a really rare opportunity to help some great causes.”
