A sell-out concert has helped raise £2,160 for Macmillan Nurses.

Four acts took to the stage at Weedon Village Hall to put on the fundraising event.

The concert organised by local man Steve Purr, featured four acts; singer-songwriter Issy Ferris, Steve’s own Garrison Band, singer-entertainer Matty Fantasi and singer Del Kingsford.

Inspired by Steve’s friend Bill Tyson’s ongoing fight against cancer, the event was to thank Macmillan nurses for their dedication and care at the oncology unit of Northampton General Hospital.

The event was completely sold-out and ticket holders were entertained all night by the musical acts.

The chef at the Plume of Feathers pub in the village provided a buffet.

In addition, Weedon Village Hall Committee members worked hard to prepare the venue, operate the bar and clear up afterwards.

One of the highlights of the event was the raffle.

Local businesses contributed sealed envelopes with secret cash prizes for lucky winners.

Organisers would like to thank Del Kingsford who performed and also provided the sound engineering for the whole night.
